The BSIA warmly congratulates PhD candidate Jeremy Wagner and recent MIPP graduate Zack Ahmed for their submission, “Inside the System, Outside the Law: The Informal Food Economy in Nairobi, Kenya”, which has earned them a place in the National Finals of the 2022 Map the System Canada competition, representing Wilfrid Laurier University. They are among 18 Canadian teams that have advanced from the campus finals.
Map the System is a global initiative of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, which asks students and educators to think differently about social and environmental change. The competition challenges participants to use a systems lens to research a specific social or environmental issue, and articulate their findings in a way that engages audiences and promotes understanding.
Map the System was brought to Canada in 2016, and is managed by The Institute for Community Prosperity at Mount Royal University.
The National Finals will be held online from May 11th to May 13th. Four Canadian teams will then advance to the Oxford Global Final competition in June.
