WatPEG Welcome Event: “International Political Economy as a Global Conversation” with special lead-off speaker Dr. Julissa Castro-Silva

September 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:20 pm

The Waterloo Political Economy Group (WatPEG) is hosting a welcome lunch and meet-and-greet. This will be an opportunity for members to connect with other students and academics interested in political economy and chat about the state of the world economy over delicious food and drinks.

The event will also include a discussion of “International Political Economy as a Global Conversation”. We are delighted that Dr. Julissa Castro-Silva (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru) has agreed to lead off the discussion. She will speak about her latest research on Andean international political economy, highlighting voices and practices that have traditionally been overlooked and which have shaped the political economy from and/or towards the central Andes.

WatPEG is open to all faculty, graduate students and researchers at the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and the Centre for International Governance Innovation, who are interested in the study of political economy. WatPEG also serves as the Balsillie School’s Global Political Economy research cluster.
