BSIA PhD graduate wins two prestigious awards at Laurier convocation

Warm congratulations to PhD graduate Dr. Allison Petrozziello whose hard work was recognized with two medals at Laurier’s convocation ceremony on Friday, October 13. Allison earned the prestigious Governor General’s Academic Medal (Gold), which is awarded at fall convocation to the graduate student who achieves the highest academic standing in a master’s or doctoral degree program from among all graduates at both the spring and fall convocations. Lord Dufferin, Canada’s third Governor General after Confederation, created the Academic Medals in 1873 to encourage academic excellence across the nation. Over the years, they have become the most prestigious award that students in Canadian schools can receive.

Allison also received the Laurier Gold Medal of Academic Excellence (doctoral level), which recognizes outstanding graduate work, talent and dedication.

Your Balsillie School family is proud of you, Dr. Petrozziello!
