Interdisciplinary research integrates insights from different disciplines for the purpose of advancing the knowledge base in a more holistic manner and helping to solve complex societal problems. However, it often requires more work, time, and creativity to publish interdisciplinary work successfully. This workshop discussion, aimed at PhD students and new scholars, explores the challenges associated with getting interdisciplinary work published.
Panelists
Dr. Andrea M. Collins is Assistant Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo, researching the role of gender in the governance of food, land, and agriculture in both local and global contexts.
Dr. Christopher Lemieux is Assistant Professor and John McMurry Research Chair in Environmental Geography at Wilfrid Laurier University, researching the priority policy and management issues pertaining to natural resources, with special emphasis on parks and other forms of protected areas.
Dr. Mark S Winfield is a Professor in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change (EUC) at York University and co-chair of the Faculty’s Sustainable Energy Initiative, researching a wide range of climate change, environment and energy law and policy topics.
