Mohamed Soufan

PhD in Global Governance

Mohamed Soufan is a PhD student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs at the University of Waterloo. He is an interdisciplinary researcher with specialized focus on the intersections of security, technology (surveillance and AI), and migration in the Middle East with a regional focus on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict post year-2000. Mohamed specializes on the marketization techniques of security surveillance and AI technologies on the global scale. He is further interested in the deployment of military surveillance and AI technologies into non-military and border spaces.
