Leonardo “Lenny” Lombardi is a graduate student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA) where he is pursuing a Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) degree as part of the 2024-2025 cohort. Born in Toronto as the oldest of triplets, he graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2023 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, specializing in Legal Studies and minoring in Philosophy.
After accepting a Graduate Fellowship in the MIPP program, Leonardo was granted a deferral of admission to the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, which he will attend in September 2025. In the interim until law school, Leonardo represents Balsillie as the Faculty Representative on the Wilfrid Laurier University Graduate Students’ Association (WLUGSA) Student Leadership Team and volunteers as a Mentor for Laurier’s Association of Political Science Students’ (APSS) PULSE Mentorship program.
Holding a deep-rooted interest in law, Leonardo strives to become a Crown Attorney to rectify the institutional barriers inherent within Canada’s justice system. He has previously worked in government through co-op work terms as a Yard Maintenance Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for the City of Hamilton followed by working as a Student Policy Analyst for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev). After graduating from Laurier, Leonardo worked for four months as a Junior Analyst for Global Affairs Canada (GAC) before being rehired by Team Oceania as a 90-day casual worker.
