Larissa Möckel is a graduate exchange student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs from the University of Konstanz, Germany, where she studies in the Master program of Politics and Public Administration since 2023.

She holds a Bachelor degree with distinction in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz, where she graduated in 2023. Her Bachelor thesis was a qualitative process tracing analysis of the administrative failure in the case of the financial fraud by the German fintech company Wirecard. During her studies, she has conducted research in the fields of international relations, especially conflict and peace studies, (comparative) policy analysis, public health, (international) law, as well as economics, thereby applying several political science methods.

Larissa gained further academic and working experiences during her semester at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and her internship at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) in 2022, where she focused on the Middle East conflict and several of its reconciliation attempts.

Alongside her studies, she is a Youth Fellow of the International Youth Think Tank (IYTT) since 2020. Moreover, she co-founded and is board member of a German-based association called “Demokratiedeckel e.V.”, which develops beer coasters with discussion questions to foster the democratic discourse.

During her time at the BSIA, Larissa hopes to gain insights into a practical approach of political science.
