Jordan Prentice

Jordan Prentice is a Master of International Public Policy student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, specializing in International Economic Relations and Human Security. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a specialization in Legal Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she was recognized on the Dean’s List.

Grounded in a commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Jordan is the Founder and CEO of Kuponya Innovations Inc., a social enterprise dedicated to developing affordable, climate-resilient housing for marginalized communities. Her leadership has been recognized with national and international awards, including the Round 4 CMHC Housing Supply Challenge and the IDEO Climate Resiliency Global Challenge.

Her professional background bridges law, policy, and innovation. As a Legal intern at Norton Rose, Jordan contributed to corporate law and civil litigation practices, while also supporting EDII initiatives to strengthen diversity and inclusion in governance. As a Research Assistant for the Westchester Innovation Network, she analyzed entrepreneurial ecosystems and economic trends to guide municipal innovation strategies. At Wilfrid Laurier University, she coordinated university-wide changemaker initiatives, fostering student engagement in entrepreneurship and social impact.

In her role as Co-President of Enactus Laurier, Jordan leads a team of over 60 students in designing and implementing enterprises that tackle pressing global challenges through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Under her leadership, the team has received multiple national awards, including the Alterna Savings SDG Project Accelerator National Best Project Award.
Jordan’s research and career interests focus on the connections between economic development, sustainability, and human rights, with a particular emphasis on their real-world impact at the community level. She is driven by a commitment to understanding how policies and global frameworks translate into meaningful change for people’s daily lives. Her work seeks to explore practical approaches that reduce inequality, enhance human security, and empower marginalized communities. In the long term, she aims to bridge the gap between international policy and grassroots realities, ensuring that economic and human rights initiatives foster sustainable and equitable development from the ground up.
