Ema Oro is a current graduate student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs pursing her master’s degree in International Public Policy. Ema graduated from Queens University in 2024, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in History.
Throughout her time at Queens, Ema had the opportunity to take classes centering on international politics and foreign policy. In her final year at Queens, she was the chief archivist for ASUS. In this position, she created projects to study and celebrate the history of the Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Society, taking the time to learn about the history of the school and the importance of school community while sharing it with the student body.
During her 3rd and 4th year of undergrad, she developed a strong interest in the international political economy and policy analysis with a particular interest in how the energy sector, natural resources, and foreign direct investment interact globally and how this influences relationships across the global economy.
Throughout her time at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Ema wishes to expand her knowledge of the international political economy and environmental policy, enriching core skills in economics, policy analysis, and research tools which will provide her with the skills to continue to work in the field of public policy, particularly in the energy and natural resources sector.
