Dan Ciuriak is an economist with interests in international trade, innovation, and economic development. He has published widely as author and editor, within government and in a personal capacity. He concluded a 31-year career with the federal public service in 2008 as Deputy Chief Economist at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT). He is presently Director and Principal of Ciuriak Consulting Inc. and in addition to his fellowship with the Balsillie School of International Affairs, holds fellowships with the Centre for International Governance Innovation (Waterloo), C.D. Howe Institute (Toronto) and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (Vancouver).
