Dr. Bixia Xu is an accounting professor and researcher whose work focuses on capital-market valuation dynamics, information environment, corporate disclosure, and corporate social responsibility. Her emerging research examines the evolving informational role of accounting, the deployment of AI in accounting, and economic and social consequences of AI. Her research has received support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Deloitte–Canadian Academic Accounting Association Research Grant, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants–Canadian Academic Accounting Association Research Grant, and numerous internal research funds. Her work has appeared in leading academic journals, including Contemporary Accounting Research, Information & Management, Journal of Business Research, and Issues in Accounting Education. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical reasoning, professional judgment, and innovative AI-enabled learning experiments.
