Arfa Rana

Master of International Public Policy

Arfa Rana is a graduate student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Wilfrid Laurier University. Her interests are centered around decolonization, migrant identities and global justice.

Rana completed her bachelor in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023 and joined CBC that summer, where she wrote stories on underrepresented communities and current affairs for over a year. She is a bold media critic and her work has been previously published in Mondoweiss, CBC, GEO News, Broadview Magazine and Tdotcommunity.

Rana is also the outreach co-ordinator of Caravan, a project to decolonize global narratives with a focus on Pakistan in solidarity with Palestine. She has organized group events, poetry nights and teach-ins within the local community which she hopes will become a driving force of change. She aspires that her degree will provide her with new ideas, tools and networks that will help decolonize policies on globalization and justice.
