The Political Economies of Fossil Fuel Phase Out

March 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

How can the world wean itself off climate changing fossil fuels? This is among the greatest and most difficult challenges the world currently faces. Peter Newell shares some emerging findings from a research project exploring the political economy of supply-side policies which seek to leave fossil fuels in the ground through bans, moratoria, restrictions on finance and the like. He will discuss national and global attempts to advance these policies and where we might go next in advancing this critical agenda.
