FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (MIPP)

Admissions requirements include the successful completion of:

• The equivalent of a four year honours Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, International Development Studies, Global Studies or a related area, with a minimum overall average of 75%;
• a one term undergraduate course in introductory microeconomics and a one term undergraduate course in introductory macroeconomics (or a full year course covering both);
• an introductory statistics that covers basic descriptive statistics, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing; and
• an undergraduate political science course in international political economy, global politics, policy or related area).

Applicants are not required to have completed all at the time of application. However, an offer of admission may be conditional on the successful completion of the above pre-requisites prior to entering the program in September.

• The MIPP is a 12 month intensive degree program, exposing students to an engaged faculty and practitioner group
• We offer an intimate, interdisciplinary experience which creates confident and knowledgeable professionals in the area of international policy
• The skills acquired mirror those of a professional program, rather than strictly research oriented programs
• Our alumni have been very successful in attaining positions after graduation, and serve as an excellent advocate group for current students

MIPP graduates have a diverse range of interests and passions that they pursue after graduation. With a small and intimate alumni network, this is an effective way for our graduates to gain awareness of the opportunities available on a global level, and they have had great success in this manner.
