Call for Abstracts: “Charting New Trajectories: Global Governance in Transition Conference”

In collaboration with the Canadian International Council, the Balsillie School is hosting a BSIA graduate student congress on July 12, 2024.

The theme of this conference is “Charting New Technologies: Global Governance in Transition”. This hybrid event is an opportunity for the Balsillie School’s master’s student community to present ongoing research, such as Major Research Paper drafts, or completed works to peers, professors, and the broader CIC membership.

In today’s dynamic global landscape, geopolitical, environmental, and social developments are creating new challenges for scholars and policymakers alike. The Balsillie School and the Canadian International Council share the same goals of fostering discussion and developing solutions to these issues, and recognize the value of young minds in shaping our world’s future. In partnering for this event, we hope to provide a forum for students to hone their skills and share their research.

Balsillie School students are welcome to present research from any field of study, and will be placed on a panel to present and discuss their work alongside presenters with similar interests.

The due date for abstracts is June 17th. Please email abstract submissions to jmyers@balsillieschool.ca and asthompson@balsillieschool.ca.

Guidelines:

  • Abstracts should be under 300 words.
  • Research presented does not have to be a complete paper but should be a coherent work in progress.
  • Please include a brief (50-75 word) description of yourself, your level of study, and your field of research.

Questions can be emailed to jmyers@balsillieschool.ca.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!
