Chuck Farmer is Executive Vice-President, Power System Development at Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator. In this role, he leads the planning of Ontario’s electricity system to ensure it remains reliable, resilient and cost-effective as demand grows and the system evolves. His responsibilities include assessing future electricity supply and transmission adequacy, identifying system needs, advancing conservation, and securing resources to meet Ontario’s long-term electricity requirements. Chuck has held senior roles at the IESO and Ontario Power Authority across power system planning, conservation and corporate relations. As a member of the Inaugural Advisory Forum, he brings deep expertise in electricity system planning, resource adequacy, transmission needs and energy transition implementation.
