Navigating the Geopolitical Challenge of Canada’s National Security

October 28 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Even a few years ago most would never have entertained the idea that the international rules-based order of the past eighty years, which had established a climate of relative peace and economic security, would be on the verge of unravelling. Threats from a revanchist Russia furthering its imperialistic goals with the brutal invasion of Ukraine, a powerful China using its new found economic might to develop a military machine bent on Pacific expansion, not to mention Iran destabilizing the Middle East along with the constant threat of a nuclear North Korea, all lead to one conclusion, that western democracies and their allies, must be ready to defend shared values their territories. Add to this the growing unreliability of the United Sates, traditionally the pillar of our shared institutions and collective defence, a monumental challenge is before us.
