Iain Sutcliffe

Masters of Arts in Global Governance

Iain Sutcliffe is a student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in the Masters of Arts in Global Governance Program. Iain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Thesis and a Minor in History from the University of Windsor, graduating with an 89 GPA and Dean’s List distinction. During his studies, he served as a Political Science Association Representative, a student mentor, and a teaching and research assistant in multiple classes.

Outside of academia, Iain has worked as a Parliamentary Assistant for the federal government in the Office of the former Member of Parliament for Windsor-Tecumseh, Irek Kusmierczyk, where he helped the MP execute strategic projects and campaigns such as the NextStar Energy Battery Plant and the Ojibway National Urban Park, acted as a liaison with key stakeholders in the federal government and the community, and represented the MP in public settings.

Iain has also worked with the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association, where he secured federal grant funding, advocated for local priorities with municipal government, and coordinated high-profile community events.

Deeply committed to public service, Iain has volunteered as a Director for the Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore Liberal Electoral District Association, contributed to the City of Windsor Transit Working Group, and has participated in federal, provincial, and municipal election campaigns.

Outside of his academic, professional, and volunteer commitments, Iain enjoys weightlifting, playing the violin, traveling, and cooking.
