Alan Knight is a student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in the Masters of Arts in Global Governance Program.
After completing a PhD in English Literature in the mid eighties he taught for a while at the University of Alberta and then McGill. He left academia when he became more involved in environmental issues. He worked in Toronto and then out of Washington DC before moving abroad. In 2024 he returned to Canada after 30 years abroad, including 12 years in Africa.
Alan is now retired. He is looking to the Balsillie School as a place to bring more discipline to his thinking and activities associated with Global Governance, International Organizations and Conflict.
A SSHRC Scholarship, a University Graduate Scholarship and a Teaching Assistantship got him through his first iteration of graduate school.
