Chris Lemieux is a conservation social scientist specializing in parks and protected areas policy, planning and management. Within this, his research focuses on biodiversity and conservation effectiveness, national and international conservation targets (such as those under the UN Convention on Biological Diversity), climate change adaptation, and the human health and well-being benefits associated with contact with nature. He is a Director of the Canadian Council on Ecological Areas, a Member of several specialist groups within the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, and has contributed to a number of provincial and federal government-led syntheses on climate change and / or biodiversity conservation.
