Maha Saymeh

Master of International Public Policy

Maha Saymeh is s a student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in the Master of International Public Policy program. Maha completed her undergraduate degree in accounting from the Islamic University in Gaza, Palestine with Distinct which enable her to make a significant stride in her career at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East.

As a Finance Officer at UNRWA, Maha has worked hard to break barriers and accomplish her career goals. She proudly stands as the youngest team member and the only female in such a senior position within the traditionally male-dominated Finance Department at the UNRWA, Gaza Field. This achievement underscores her exceptional skills, determination, and leadership potential.

Maha’s experiences working to serve refugees have ignited a passion for broader global issues. Her academic interests now encompass Global institutions, Diplomacy and justice, Global Political Economy, and Migration.

During her time at the Balsillie School, Maha aims to enhance her research and critical thinking abilities, refine her academic and policy writing skills, and to develop a comprehensive understanding of complex global issues.
