Across All Borders: A Conference on Gender-Based Violence

September 21 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Building upon the ground-breaking work of the African Women’s Alliance of Waterloo Region, this conference will serve as a beacon of hope and advocacy for African Canadian women facing the scourge of domestic violence (DV). Our event aims to shine the spotlight on the unique struggles of African Canadian women, emphasizing the urgent need for an Afrocentric lens in understanding and combating DV.

“Across All Borders” serves as a platform for dialogue, advocacy, and action. Through culturally relevant approaches and community engagement, we aim to foster meaningful change and empower survivors. Together, we will break down barriers, challenge stigma, and pave the way for a future where all women can live free from fear and violence. Join us in our mission to create a world where borders do not confine safety and dignity.

Parking is available in the CIGI Campus lot at the South end of the building off Father David Bauer Drive. Enter the building through the Erb Street doors.
