Mackenzie White holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from King’s University College at the University of Western Ontario. She completed a Double Major in Political Science, and in Social Justice & Peace Studies. She is also returning to King’s simultaneously during the 2021-2022 academic year to complete the recently developed Law and Public Policy Certificate.

Her research interests include Conflict and Security, Global Governance, International Development and Federal Foreign Affairs. In her third year of undergraduate studies, Mackenzie had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, which further extended her knowledge in multilateral institutions and diplomacy, the social welfare state, Canadian-European Politics, and international relations. She was also a Delegate at the Daughters of the Vote conference by Equal Voice at the House of Commons in March 2021, and a Delegate at an East-West European Institute conference at the European Union in Brussels, Belgium, in May 2021.

Through international experiential learning, Mackenzie has conducted original research pertaining to sustainable development in Ghana and peace policy implementation in Ethiopia. These experiences have fueled a love for public speaking, representation, and engagement, as well as the opportunities to interview high officials at the United Nations Economic Commission of Africa, Government Ministries, Non-governmental organizations, and the African Union. Mackenzie has been a prominent student leader in the community, was an elected member of the King’s Students’ Council and the University Students’ Council at Western University, as well as a Teaching Assistant.

She looks forward to continuing her education and research in a career of diplomacy, policy analysis, and academia, and is delighted to pursue graduate studies at the Balsillie School of International Affairs.
