CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: The Global Health Research Cluster (HRC) welcomes BSIA, UW and Laurier graduate students to participate in their ‘Student Research Support Cafe,’
Senior HRC members will advise students on any matter of concerns as they relate to research project preparation and development. This session is open to students working on projects that deal with health topics, such as Major Research Papers (MRPs), term papers, theses or external projects.
This event is not a group seminar; rather, students are invited to share project details via webform prior to the Cafe, and receive targeted advice based on their particular needs. Students who hope to network with researchers and senior faculty in their field are encouraged to attend!
All requests for consultation will be considered, however, some examples might include:
Research question development
Is my question compelling and answerable?
Does my hypothesis fulfil assignment instructions?
How can I make my research question more concise?
Research design
What methods could I use to answer this research question?
Is the scope of my project too large? Too narrow?
Identifying relevant resources, organizations, or literature
What is the landscape of organizations working in this area?
What important authors should my paper consider?
Where can I find resources to address my research question?
Publication and grant application insights
How could I fulfil a specific requirement of a funding application?
Which journals may be receptive to this paper?
