Sarah Murray is a doctoral candidate at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in the Global Justice and Human Rights stream. She previously completed her MA in History at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she studied international human rights law and human rights abuses in colonial Kenya.

Sarah’s areas of expertise are international human rights, global governance, and disability rights. Her current research focuses on international disability rights and the implementation and effectiveness of governance instruments such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Her dissertation studies the implementation of the CRPD in Canada and internationally.

Prior to her studies, Sarah worked on establishing a small public archive at Gore Mutual Insurance in Cambridge. She also worked with a social work agency, where she was an assistant case manager for children with complex medical needs and developmental disabilities.
