Master of Arts in Global Governance

Eric Denyoh was born and raised on the beautiful West African coast of Ghana. He completed his undergrad in 2020 from York University with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Global Political Studies. His passion for the field of Global Governance started from childhood growing up in Ghana where he was exposed to the significance of democratic transitions and political processes, as well as the plight and marginalization of people living in abject poverty in the Global South; this inspired him to pursue Global Political Studies as an undergraduate major. During his undergraduate studies, Eric focused his research primarily on state and nation building, peace-building, democratization, globalization, human rights, conflict and migration, and development policies in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Presently, his research interests include, but are not limited to democratization, global security and international development, and the interaction these have with global governance.

While at BSIA, he hopes that the MAGG program will provide him with the conceptual tools and knowledge to engage in the current issues and practices of international affairs, particularly in the developing world. Beyond graduate studies, he would like to be relevant on the global scene by being at the forefront of shaping global governance to help facilitate positive changes in the Global South and promote peace, equity and social justice.
