The Next 100 Symposium is a unique and highly curated event where top minds in energy, defence, economy, and policy meet with the top minds in technology and natural science. The event is curated to be practical and instrumental and to transcend the borders of individual sectors and disciplines. Previous symposia attest to its nature and innovative structure and programme design. Our task is to advance a working dialogue on translating crisis-driven language into future-oriented ideas on a global scale.

SYMPOSIUM PROGRAM STRANDS
Unlike the previous years, we conducted online Expert Panels and working groups in the months preceding the Symposium. The first consisted of experts from the 5 N100 strands (above), the second consisted of experts from the fields of technology, methodology and foresight, reflecting on the first panel’s outcome, the third was a joint panel. The three Expert Panels will inform the event’s program. You can find information and the list of experts on the N100 website.
Another feature of this year’s Symposium is the third-day closed meetings on the 23rd of September where individual speakers, partners, researchers, key institutions and projects will be invited to discuss current, future and potential projects and have collaborators join or reflect in a closed door environment. We believe this will be one of the most fruitful and important elements of the Next 100 Symposium and we’d like you to be part of it. One of the meetings will be about a collaborative book based on the symposium, the working title of which is “Taming the Black Swan: Managing Global Socio-Economic Complexity.” This third-day of closed meetings is by special invitation only, please let us know if you are interested.
