Migration and Technology: Governance Innovations, Challenges, and Future Directions that Leave No One Behind

October 8 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Hybrid Hybrid Event

Join us for an engaging workshop that explores the intersection of migration and technology, organized by the International Migration Research Centre (IMRC), the MiFOOD Network, and the Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA), in collaboration with the newly launched Migration+Technology Hub and the BSIA-UWC Centre of Excellence in Migration Technology and Governance. This event will explore how technological advancements are reshaping migration patterns, experiences, and policies. Through interdisciplinary discussions, experts will examine digital tools for migrants, technology in border control, and the influence of social media on migration narratives, while addressing ethical considerations and proposing future directions for research and governance. The workshop will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative sessions, fostering a comprehensive understanding of these critical issues.

We invite experts, researchers, practitioners, and graduate students to join us and contribute to this important dialogue.
