You are invited to apply to one of the four graduate programs offered by Wilfrid Laurier University (Laurier) and the University of Waterloo (UW) based at the Balsillie School.

Emphasizing small class sizes and close individual contact with faculty, up to 12 doctoral students are admitted each year to the joint Laurier/UW PhD in Global Governance Program, and each of the Masters programs (MAGG, MDP and MIPP) has a cohort size of fewer than 25 students.

The application portals for the PhD in Global Governance, University of Waterloo Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG) and Wilfrid Laurier University Master in International Public Policy (MIPP) and University of Waterloo Master of Development Practice (MDP) programs are now open for the September 2026 intake.

Applications due dates:

PhD in Global Governance – January 15, 2026
Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG) – January 22, 2026
Master of Development Practice (MDP) – February 1, 2026
Master in International Public Policy (MIPP) – January 15, 2026 (first consideration of domestic applicants,
and all international applicants); April 30, 2026 (domestic applicants).
