You are invited to apply to one of the three graduate programs offered by Wilfrid Laurier University (Laurier) and the University of Waterloo (UW) based at the Balsillie School.

Emphasizing small class sizes and close individual contact with faculty, up to 12 doctoral students are admitted each year to the joint Laurier/UW PhD in Global Governance Program, and up to 25 master’s-level students to Laurier’s Master of International Public Policy (MIPP), and UW’s Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG), respectively.

University of Waterloo PhD in Global Governance:
January 15, 2025
(The Global Governance program is a joint program between the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. On the University of Waterloo side, the program admits students through both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Environment. The PhD program will not be admitting any international students through the Faculty of Arts for the 2025-2026 academic year. International applicants whose proposed research relates to environmental governance should contact the program before applying. International applicants whose proposed research relates to other aspects of Global Governance should apply to the program
via Wilfrid Laurier University.)

Wilfrid Laurier University PhD in Global Governance:
January 15, 2025 (international applicants and first round for domestic applicants) and
April 30, 2025 for domestic applicants.
The first round of consideration for all complete domestic and international applications to Laurier's PhD in GG will be given to those received by January 15, 2025. Laurier may continue to adjudicate domestic applications until April 30, 2025
or until the program is full.

University of Waterloo Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG):
January 22, 2025
(The MAGG program will not be admitting international students for the 2025-2026 academic year.)

Wilfrid Laurier University Master in International Public Policy (MIPP):
January 22, 2025 (international applicants and first round for domestic applicants) and
April 30, 2025 for domestic applicants.
The first round of consideration for all complete domestic and international applications to Laurier's MIPP program will be given to those received by January 22, 2025. Laurier may continue to adjudicate domestic applications until April 30, 2025
or until the program is full.
